Dr. George Reizner
George Reizner

George Reizner has served as one of the Associate Editor of the International Journal of Dermatology (IJD) since January of 2001.

He practices dermatology and dermatopathology at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI, USA. He currently serves as the Vice-Chair for Education of the Department of Dermatology and is the recent past Program Director for the Dermatology and Internal Medicine-Dermatology combined training programs. His academic title is Professor of Dermatology, University of Wisconsin, School of Medicine and Public Health. He grew up mostly in Michigan where he attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and received his baccalaureate degree. He then attended the George Washington University, Washington, D.C. and graduated from Medical School in 1980. His original training was in Internal Medicine and then completed his residency in Dermatology from the University of Wisconsin in 1984. This was followed by a Dermatopathology Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, concluded in 1986. After this he returned to the University of Wisconsin where he has continued to practice dermatology.

Professional interests include melanoma, non-melanoma skin cancers in non-Caucasians, general dermatology, dermatopathology and medical education. His contribution to the Journal have included Regional Editor for North America, management of the Journal covers, forthcoming Society meetings and the meetings, transactions and Society news sections along with multiple committees serving the International Society of Dermatology.
