Lawrence Gibson serves as the Editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Dermatology (IJD), assuming these duties in January of 2001. He practices dermatology and dermatopathology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, USA. He currently serves as the Chair of Laboratory Dermatology at Mayo Clinic and is the program director for the dermatopathology fellowship. His academic title is Professor of Dermatology, Mayo College of Medicine. Originally from Kentucky, he attended the University of Louisville, graduating from medical school in 1980. After training in Internal Medicine, Dermatology and Dermatopathology, he joined the staff in Dermatology in 1986. Professional interests include cutaneous vasculitis, cutaneous lymphoma and immunobullous diseases. He has lectured on these topics at various international meetings including those sponsored by the International Society of Dermatology. Dr. Gibson has lead the IJD through several modernization steps over the past six years.The Journal is now fully electronic, from submission through publication. Full access to the Journal can be gained through membership in the International Society of Dermatology. The Journal is now linked to the newly remodeled ISD web site. |
