2007
Prof. Leena Bruckner- Tuderman, MD of Freiberg, Germany delivered the 2007 Maria Duran Lecture at the Egyptian’s Women’s Dermatological Society’s meeting in cooperation with the International Society of Dermatology.
The Maria Duran medals were awarded to Antonella Tosti ( Italy) and Lourdes Tamayo ( Mexico) during the ISD Reception in Washington DC. The Maria Duran Fellowship was awarded to Michelle Manuel, MD of the Philippines.

2006
The Maria Duran Lecture was delivered by Prof. Fenella Wojnaroska during the Cairo Derma II meeting sponsored by the African Association of Dermatology held last September 3-6, 2006. Dr. Maria Caroline Bolling of the Netherlands received the Maria Duran Fellowship for this meeting. Earlier, in Split, Croatia, Dr. Bohdan Lytvynenko of Ukraine was awarded the Maria Duran Flellowship to attend the 3rd Congress of Croatian Dermatovenereology ( May 18-21, 2006)
2005
A special ISD session for the 2005 Maria Duran Lecture at the CILAD meeting in Cartagena, Colombia was delivered by Robin Marks, MD. The Maria Duran medal was awarded to Marcia Ramos-e-Silva and Ana Kaminsky. The Maria Duran Fellowship was awarded to Clarissa Pratti.
The Maria Duran Medals for 2008 were awarded to Prof. Wilma Bergfeld, MD of USA and Prof. Rachel Birnbaum of Israel during the ISD Reception in San Antonio, Texas, USA.
The Maria Duran Lecturer for 2008 is Prof. Dedee Murrell of Sydney, Australia. She will deliver her lecture during the 32nd Annual Convention of the Philippine Dermatological Convention, in conjunction with the International Society of Dermatology. Her expertise is in the field of epidermolysis bullosa and autoimmune blistering disorders.
The Maria Duran Fellowship for 2008 was awarded to Dr. Rashmi Sarkar of India. She will give a poster presentation during the 32nd Annual Convention of the Philippine Dermatological Convention, in conjunction with the International Society of Dermatology to be held on November 19-21, 2008. The meeting is being coordinated by Evangeline B. Handog, MD, Chair of the Maria Duran committee.

Duran Committee wishes to recognize leaders in international dermatology and those who have made significant contributions to dermatologic conditions affecting women and children.
We are proud to announce the nomination of Prof. Rafael Falabella (Colombia) for the 2009 Maria M. Duran Lectureship and Prof. Jana Hercogova (Czech Rep) for the 2009 Maria M. Duran Medal. The Maria Duran Medal will be awarded to Prof. Hercogova during the X International Congress of Dermatology in Prague, May 20-24, 2009.
